Signatures

I've been going through many discussions on this board while working on reformatting the old posts, and I can't find any good reason to allow signatures.  To me, they:

1)  waste space
2)  make it more difficult to follow a conversation because a signature is sandwiched between two posts

Thoughts?

Ryan, I think it is a nice feature that both Discus and PunBB have given to both formats, they are kind of fun when you find a quote that emphasizes a point you are making. I think in .com, that when you changed your signature, the old one stayed, now if you change the quote, it goes back to the beginning of all your posts. Wish they could stay the way they were for certain posts and change for new posts.
