Bob

The fact that you say my conclusion is not Biblical doesn't make it so. It is Biblical. Do I need to give you a Bible study. I was under the impression that you had at least read the NT.

The only thing I am "pro" is truth.

Neal, you are the first one that interpreted the Bible to, for Christianity to mean castration and homosexuality. That means a literal, misunderstood meaning. You can go give yourself a Bible Study. Your interpretation and discernment are way off. Go tell your kid about the touchy feely Speghetti monster so she doesn't get the wrong idea, but I have never had anyone who ever read the Bible mock God and Christianity they way you have. I ran it by my wife and she said, "DELETE, DELETE, DELETE." If I could I would. But Ryan probably won't have the guts to. At 23 he's still learning when it is mockery and when he should step in.

Nobody will back you up on your position because my position is Biblical. I'm sorry to hear that your wife is as ignorant about the Bible as you are.

Typical Presbyterian. DELETE, DELETE, DELETE.

Very Presbyterian. If you could kill me like the old Scots Presbyters I'm sure you would.

Poor Thomas Aikenhead.

Matthew 19:8 Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."

10 The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry."

11Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage[c]because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."

Ryan, must not be reading fast enough, he deleted your first post, wait till he gets to the middle and end of this thread.

He did not delete my first post.

I would be happy if he deleted the quote from Matthew 19. It is garbage. But, hey, its your god that thinks its worth a reward if you cut your nuts off. Good thing you hadn't read the Bible... you may be wifeless and childless if you had!

You better be careful it was things you said about my wife that got you banned last time.

Everything I've said is from your sacred book.

You are the one that professes to believe it even though you haven't even read it.

As far as being banned, I think you hold the record for being banned by J.R.

Ryan is probably busy. From the response he gave you he seems to be a very intelligent, rational young man.

Yes. Thanks. I do see that he deleted my first post.

How many emails did you have to send to Ryan to get that to happen?

Good work Bob. Right up John Knox's alley.

You think Knox was bad, read about Calvin, at least Know was out to defend Protestants killed [although it says he wasn't part of the group], Calvin was out to kill those who differed with him theologically
Offline
So was Knox. Your church did the last hanging in Scotland. The kid said to a friend that it was so cold he wished he was in hades. They had a big trial in Edinburgh and hung him.
Offline
The Enlightenment stopped your church from killing people.

The students of the Enlightenment started this country. They did a good thing by trying to make sure people like you are not able to kill somebody for their different belief or non-belief.

I could point you to a book I read. It had the title of How the Scots Invented the Modern World.

You wouldn't believe it if you read it.

He is the father of your church. He hung people.

Looked it over, saw nothing about John Knox.

Still can't find where it says Knox hung young Aikenhead.
Offline
In fact Neal if Knox was appointed minister of St Giles' church in 1559, how could he have had a hand in hanging young Thomas Aikenhead in 1697??

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Edinburgh _history

Bob

Knox worked with Calvin in Geneva. He was completely Calvinistic. I have no doubt that Knox in Scotland used the same tactics as Calvin did in Geneva. Just in the space of 5 years in Geneva 58 people were executed for blasphemy, witchcraft, heresy, and adultery. This happened a few years before Knox showed up with Calvin and I am certain Calvin was still promoting the same thinking when Knox was there. Knox himself seemed to be behind the murder of David Beaton which paved the way for Presbyterians to become the dominant STATE church of Scotland.

As Knox was the kingpin behind the almost theocratic politics of Scotland I think he should be referred to anytime he or his fellow presbyters laid a hand on somebody. Just like Calvin is responsible for a lot more than the first opponent he had killed.

Thomas Aikenhead was killed by Knox's system.
