Information

Here is the plan for the next few days:

1)  I will be reformatting old Discus Pro posts starting with the most recent and active threads.  Any posts since November 2009 will be reformatted first.

2)  The old Discus Pro site will be back online at www.atomorrow.net/forum/old.  I am putting it back online so that all of the old posts exist in a readable format as a sort of library of information.  No new posts will be allowed.

2a)  You may be wondering what the point is of moving to a new discussion board.  One important thing to keep in mind is that Discus Pro was old and unsupported, which meant that the information on the old board was at risk of being lost forever.  With this new board (running on PunBB), we have information redundancy plus the ability to continue migrating our information and historical posts in the future.  Much information has been lost throughout the years because of the inability for such information to be moved to new forms.  This is the nature of technology and of the Internet.

Re: Information

Bob:  It's not up yet.  All of the Discus Pro files from the old board are intact, I just need to get them moved and pointing to the right places.  I've been working on it and am making progress.

Re: Information

Ryan, question, Look at New Covenant Theology, and my last post should be my first post of the topic, but it is the last. Can you help me understand this? Does the software allow the first post of a topic to be the latest one

Re: Information

Any progress on having the most recent post to a thread show as the first rather than the last. Part of the lack of activity on the board could be related. Once the last post goes off the active topics, if the thread has multiple pages, interested posters have to know to go to the last page of the thread using the Index button to find the category and thread. Is it solvable??

This is a characteristic of the software itself, so, for the moment, we'll have to put up with it.

I do think it is useful, however.  For those who have been following a specific thread, they can either subscribe to it or click on the "New posts" link at top to view any new posts.  But, for people who stumble upon this site and find a thread of interest, starting at the beginning rather than at the latest post would be more beneficial to them.  So, in my head at least, it's a more logical system, though it will take some more time to get used to it.

Re: Information

is there a way to access all the days postings with a "click" like on the old board...which offered two choices...."last day",  and "last week"?  I found both those very convenient.
