Ryan, I think I sent you an email on this subject, but will try to get an answer again.
ATomorrow.net is "dying". Why?
1. The new format did not convert all posts to readable, searchable format.
2. The longer this condition exists, the less people that will visit to use Atomorrow.net
Question, the experiment that is ATomorrow.net under the new format, I believe has had long enough to show whether your idea will enrich ATomorrow.net, I think the answer is obvious.
Why not change back to the former format we started with when we became ATomorrow.net???

Bob, what you are seeing is the death of Adventism. The low activity on this site may just reflect the fact that many have given up on the discussion. A number have also died over the years. Of those still living, many simply don’t care enough, and many others that do care, are so set in their delusional ways, that they don’t want to talk about Reform anyway. They have no intention of following the facts or being honest with the evidence.
Thus the TA’s, including Goldstein, or Sequeira, etc., know better than to try and promote their worthless views on this site, so they stay away, and so too many others. Consaquently, this place will never become like the AToday or JR’s site.
Those sites were famous for the clash between the old and new theology. All that supported Glacier View were proven wrong at every point, over and over again for all to see. So many stay away for a good reason. They know they cannot defend their views.
But history moves on, and so too does the discussion about Adventist Reform. Who knows what is ahead? In any event, it seems counterproductive to try and switch back. That would just cause more problems and waste more time.
I think that there should be a push to get people to go back and clean up their old posts, or their posts should be deleted.
I have fixed up a number of posts in the Reform section, but there is more to go. So it is a work in progress.

Be glad to help "clean up posts" but have not been shown how to do it. Even Ryan was complaining of the work involved. Is it not easier to just go back to the format that .net started with???
Offline
Bob, everyone should go to their own posts and edit them. If what they have said is not worth saving, then it should be trashed.
It would not be such a big deal if everyone would just clean up their own posts. I have not had a chance to get all mine cleaned up, but I am working on it.
In addition, Ryan can authorize you, or anyone to clean up posts.

It is my understanding, from Ryan, there is an easier way to change the post with another language, than to wade through and change each symbol. If that is what we have to do, heaven help us, and let's change back as Ryan said we would do once we tried this new BBCode. More were perticipating with the Discus format. Can't we see that, obviously, prima facia????

Bob,
If you want, I'll give you access so you can help format the old posts.
By the way, I wasn't complaining about the work, just informing everyone as to what the work involved.
The old Discusware isn't an option any longer. Furthermore, I don't think it's simply the forum software that determines the amount of participation--people just don't seem to want to discuss much at the current time. I've converted quite a few of the old and popular posts but there aren't really any new ones popping up.
Converting the old posts to a readable format will be finished, just not right away. It's something that takes time, and I have always had the end of the year as my finishing goal.

Also, I believe the software change gave some users the chance and time to think about whether or not they wished to continue participating. I know this to be the case with at least two former posters. It's unfortunate, yes, but some just got tired of the same Adventist dialogue.

As soon as we changed and had to reregister, I noticed a drop. Elaine being one of them. She never tires of discussing Adventism, but did complain about the new format. If Discus is now too late, what was your window???
When reading a total thread, it is difficult to make sense of the goobleygook that are in a lot of posts. I would like you to open the opportunity up to help clean it up. It's hard to beleive that the discussion is down to you, me, Tom and Bob. What is the registration process? If someone has hoops to jump from Discus to BBCode, they will go post on Spectrum, which Elaine does profusely.

Ryan, everyone knows that ATomorrow.com and .net were there to discuss Adventist related issues. To suggest people left because they tired of this pursuit is a bit disingenuous.
Yes, I would like you to give me permission to help save .net by converting some of the posts.

Ryan, are you sure those two you are talking about that left weren't an atheist and a non-SDA attending an SDA church??? They're both at Spectrum where SDAism is all they talk about, on the liberal progressive side.

I can tell you why I don't post here any more - I don't wish to talk to Bob2 exclusively. "Spectrum" has wider input and articles that can be discussed. It's too bad since I have appreciated atomorrow for giving voice to the voiceless.
We keep going around and around on the same subjects; and I've heard everything there is to hear from Tom.
Maybe we could post articles and issues that are worth discussing....?

Sirje, when no one was posting at all, and I would go to Spectrum and she you, elaine and John over their and the group that run it disparge the SDA church including Scriven, maybe that is where you all belong.
I resign from this forum, it is going no where. PULL THE PLUG.

One last comment, This one of the only forums that one can start their own subject to discuss. Sirje is not good at that. She doesn't mind throwing in her 2 cents worth on someone's else's thought up subject, just like she is discussing, but not good at start or thinking up a subject to discuss.
That's it for me. I am of the thought that it should never have continued from .com. It has taken its course, served its purpose.
